Sadly, the closest I've come to cultivating such splendid specimens is putting together a Pomegranate puzzle:
And likewise, despite years of allotmenting, I still feel far more confident with my Packets of Promise puzzle than I do with real packets of seed:

deep purple irises are on my list for the front garden, our neighbours have them and they look amazing.
