virtual gardening

The allotment plot next to ours is sporting the most magnificent irises--dark purple spikes unfurling into big, floppy frills:

Sadly, the closest I've come to cultivating such splendid specimens is putting together a Pomegranate puzzle:

And likewise, despite years of allotmenting, I still feel far more confident with my Packets of Promise puzzle than I do with real packets of seed:

Perhaps I'm just meant to be a virtual gardener?

    It's all I can do not to land flat on my face for gazing at other people's gardens while walking Deacon. Blast those uneven sidewalks!
